Welcome to the Website of an aspiring author
Consider this a smoky glass window; a portal to another world. Stepping through, you are invited to visit other worlds and places formed from the active imagination of a dreamer. My name is Ric Richardson, and I am that dreamer. As I have mentioned above, I'm an aspiring author; someone who enjoys wandering into the worlds I create, composing characters and situations like a symphony of stories that flow through my fingers to the keyboard and into the imaginations of others. If you come along with me, you will get to know the characters that become real as I add descriptions and personalities to them, and visit the far off lands that I architect with words. You may enjoy the visits to the places I create or you may shudder at the suspense that I sometimes find necessary, but more than anything else, it is my goal to give you, the reader, something to contemplate, remember and to care about.
So why do I do what I do? In my own terms, I am and have always been an author at heart. As life has taken me down many unexpected pathways, some pleasant, some not, I have always returned to the foundation of what I love. Whether writing for pleasure, writing for work, or just writing to pass the time, I write…It’s what I do.
It's been many years since I first discovered my love of putting thoughts into words, and words onto paper whether electronically or not. In the passing of those years, the innocence of a young boy with a lot of dreams melted into the realities of life that was sometimes confusing but always at the pace of a speeding bullet. I’ve always considered myself resourceful, doing in life what I believed I needed to do to find happiness and to make the living that is necessary to survive. Though pen and paper, or keyboard and monitor have never been far from me, at times taking me to worlds of escape that I needed, writing took a back seat in the life of a man dealing with the complexities of life. Now, those many years later, I’ve survived, I’m happy, I have a good life that I love, and I’m embarking on the mission that I began long ago; to finish the stories in my head and to share them with the world.
For a good chunk of my life, the internet has been my job so it seemed only natural that I take what I do by trade, mix those skills with my love for creativity and build my own space on the web. Here, with a little perseverance, I hope to document my life and my loves and to begin to share with the world the things that I’ve experienced along with the things that I write. I hope that you the reader will enjoy my space and wander into the worlds that I create as they begin to appear here and there within the electronic pages of this site. If I can touch you with the things that I have done in life or with the stories that I create, then I have done what I set out to do what now seems a lifetime ago.
